OUR PHILOSOPHY

Tuscany Pens is dedicated to preserving the art of handwriting through our line of fine handcrafted pens.

Each pen is carefully handcrafted using the finest materials and becomes a functional work of art - both beautiful and practical.

A quality pen makes a positive statement to the world about its owner: confident, in-charge and attention to detail.

If you don't find the pen that you are looking for on our website, or if you have a specific request or need, please contact us for a custom pen.  We also provide laser engraving on the pen (names, sentiments, logo) and on the optional wood gift boxes.

Contact us and discover all we have to offer. Our staff is looking forward to speaking with you.

In today's society, handwritten communications have become a vanishing art.  Now we rely on e-mail, texting and instant messaging to communicate.  However, discerning individuals still realize the captivating essence of a beautifully penned, hand-written note.  Be it a letter of recommendation, a thank you letter, or a right from the heart love letter, taking a quality, handmade pen to beautifully crafted paper expresses ideas, emotions and care like no other medium can.

Handcrafted writing instruments are like mini works of art.  In the words of Leonardo Da Vinci "The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding and appreciating beauty." Not only are they beautiful to look at and hold, they are designed to be used every day and not just sit on a shelf.

For a great gift for that special person or occasion, a corporate executive or employee, please consider a beautiful, handcrafted pen from Tuscany Pens.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

"I learned how to create objects on the lathe, by hand, from Italian and Dutch craftsmen. Seeing the wood being transformed from pieces of wood or acrylic to a finished work of art is very rewarding.

After spending many years living on various Indian reservations in the western United States comes an understanding and appreciation of their belief that all things are inter-related. It is only possible to understand something if we understand how it is connected to everything else.

Working with wood allows for exploration of the way we interact with objects in our daily lives; how their shapes, and the orientation of those forms, affect our perceptions of them. By exploring the interaction of curves with other curves and straight lines, and by orienting those lines in unexpected directions, we break the confining nature of our mass-produced culture. My desire is to create objects that both surprise and delight the senses."
